Local Businessman Signs Multi-Unit Agreement with National Coffee Brand
OMAHA, Neb. – (December 2021) – Scooter’s Coffee®, LLC, the Midwest-based drive-thru coffee franchise that is experiencing record-breaking growth, is continuing its effort to grow its presence throughout the United States by bringing its world-class drive-thru coffee locations to Sugar Land, Missouri City, Stafford, Rosenberg, and Richmond Texas.
Scooter’s Coffee, based in Omaha, Nebraska, specializes in artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries and features its signature drink, the Caramelicious. The expansion into the area southwest of Houston is the result of a ten-unit franchise agreement signed by George Ayoub. Ayoub, the owner of a printing franchise in the Houston area, had been thinking about other franchise opportunities but had never heard of Scooter’s Coffee until he traveled to Nebraska to visit friends. “At the Omaha airport, there was one near our gate, one on the other side of security just before baggage claim, and another right outside the airport. My nine-year-old son said, “Dad, there’s Scooter’s Coffee everywhere!”
Ayoub might not have thought more about it, but then their return flight was canceled, forcing the family to extend their trip by two days. “My friend asked me, ‘have you tried Scooter’s Coffee yet?’ so I went to try it. I loved the product and the fast friendly service.” The idea of Scooter’s Coffee as an investment grew from there. “I started stopping at different Scooter’s Coffee so I could try more of the product.” He called for more information about franchising while he was still in Nebraska. “Once we got talking it went fast. Only two months from first trying it to signing the deal.”
According to the latest market trends compiled by the National Coffee Association, 60 percent of Americans drank coffee in the past day. That’s more than reported drinking tea, juice, soda, or even tap water! And the number of people who reported buying coffee at a coffee shop or restaurant has risen 20% since January of 2021. The drive-thru coffee model, already popular in our fast-paced society, has boomed during the pandemic, giving customers a way to get a delicious beverage while staying socially distant. Ayoub says he wants to build a family legacy for his three sons, ages 3, 6, and 9. “I want to do it in their presence so they can learn about work and responsibility. In the future, I want them to be involved in the franchises, too.”
