Air Force Veteran Signs Agreement with National Coffee Brand
OMAHA, Neb. – (January 2022) – Scooter’s Coffee®, LLC, the Midwest-based drive-thru coffee franchise that is experiencing record-breaking growth, is continuing its effort to grow its presence throughout the United States by bringing its world-class drive-thru coffee location to Mascoutah, Illinois.

The expansion into the region of Illinois called Metro East due to its proximity to the St. Louis Metropolitan Area is the result of an agreement signed by Mascoutah resident Laura Hearen. Hearen retired from the Air Force after twenty-four years of service and returned to the U.S. from Germany, settling in Illinois to be close to her husband’s family.
During the pandemic, a local restaurant in a prime downtown location went out of business and Hearen commented to a friend that the building would be perfect for a coffee shop. “I honestly didn’t mean anything by it,” said Hearen. “But then a few months later a neighbor told me there was a coffee shop coming there.”
Scooter’s Coffee had bought the property and placed an advertisement for franchise owners, so Hearen called to find out more. “I’ve never owned a business before, but depending on how this one does, I can see myself buying more.”
