January 30, 2024 // Franchising.com // OMAHA, Nebraska – Scooter’s Coffee, the Midwest-based drive-thru coffee franchise experiencing record-breaking growth, will open an endcap location at the National Sports Village in Blaine, Minnesota, this summer. Instead of the typical kiosk, this location will have a walk-in area in addition to its drive-thru. It will be more than 1,200 square feet, or about twice the size of the standard kiosk.

Omaha-based Scooter’s Coffee specializes in espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries and features its signature beverage, the Caramelicious®. The company also offers a wide selection for all taste profiles with its organic hot and iced teas, premium-grade brewed coffee, cold brew, breakfast items, and a children’s menu. It’s known for its drive-thru-only kiosk model and its fast, friendly service which allows customers to “scoot in” to buy their favorite beverage.

The National Sports Village is a two-phase development designed to support the National Sports Centerlocated next door. The world’s largest amateur sports facility, the 600-acre+ complex boasts 50 soccer fields, eight ice rinks, a PGA Tour designed golf course and much more. More than 4 million people from all over the world visit each year.

The National Sports Village will contain a variety of shops and restaurants to appeal to those visitors. The broker for the project developer was familiar with Scooter’s Coffee and approached Susan and Brent Nygaard – the franchisees who owned the territory.

The Nygaards are life-long Minnesotans who’ve lived in nearby Lino Lakes for 28 years. They discovered Scooter’s Coffee on a visit to Iowa. Susan’s a nurse and Brent works in structural design, but both were ready for new challenges. “The brand really spoke to us, especially their core values of integrity, love, humility, and courage,” she said. “We are so excited to bring Scooter’s Coffee to the National Sports Village.”

The National Sports Village is being developed at 105th Avenue and Radisson Road, next to the National Sports Center, in Blaine. Phase I will cover three acres and will include two commercial buildings with more than 28,000 square feet for recreation, dining, entertainment, and more. It is scheduled to open this summer.

“Susan and Brent Nygaard’s decision to open a Scooter’s Coffee location in the National Sports Village not only aligns with our commitment to quality but also reflects their enthusiasm for serving the local and global community that converges at this exceptional sports destination,” said Matt Sawicki, Vice President of Franchise Sales.
