Scooter’s Coffee® CEO Todd Graeve gave the world an inside look into the company, his management style and even his early morning routine. Graeve was featured in the most recent edition of Franchise Update magazine. It’s the only industry publication 100% dedicated to franchisors. Scooter’s Coffee’s top executive was featured in the quarterly publication’s CEO Profile series.
Graeve, 48, worked his way up through the ranks before earning the title of CEO at Scooter’s Coffee just more than a year ago. Graeve tells Franchise Update he’s seeking to expand Scooter’s Coffee’s footprint. The company is quickly approaching 200 franchised units in 15 states, and 144 franchisee commitments to build new stores. Graeve says the goal is to have 500 profitable stores under its belt within six to eight years. More importantly, the husband and father of two daughters says it will happen while maintaining Scooter’s Coffee’s culture of family with the employees and franchisees. “Taking time to help others find success and purpose will be our testimony,” says Graeve. “It will be what characterizes us at the end of the day.”
Graeve is a firm believer in family and faith. He counts his parents in helping to set the foundation for his leadership style. He strives to lead on a platform of humility and an “others first” frame of mind. The ability to influence the success of others is how Graeve says he will measure his success. Graeve revealed he is an early riser who likes to work and read at his home desk (over coffee, of course) by six a.m. When it comes to relaxing, Graeve leans on his wife, who has helped him learn to take time away from work.
